When it comes to apparel for adults, we’ve gotten accustomed to the idea that the dresses, blouses, and suits we covet will always look a little more crisp and perfect on display than they will when we put them on before the mirror in the morning. That’s because most of the clothing out there for adults is designed with mannequins in mind. When it comes to Elephantito, we have a different ethos: our clothing is inspired by living, breathing children, with all their liveliness and personality. We believe that no matter how many hours we spend sketching silhouettes and looking at samples, our products will only ever be “finished” when they’re loved by a child who has made them their own. We invest in classic, timeless cuts and styles because we know that this aesthetic leaves more room for individuality than any other. It’s a bit of a running joke between us founders. We can put two lovely children in identical dresses or pants and the pieces will end up looking completely different, though united still by an aura of love, confidence, and quality.

We have a favor to ask of you, our favorite (all of you!) customers. It’s a fun one. Show us our finished pieces, please! Nothing makes our day more than seeing a picture of your special little someone dressed in Elephantito. On an artistic level, it means more than we can say to see our visions and designs come to fruition. And as mothers ourselves, we love to know that we are in some way part of the lives of your beautiful, bright children, facilitating their fun and their growth.

It’s pretty simple. Elephantito is a family, and developing a shared family album is the next item on our to do list.
